Re-issue equation

You lost the printed equation credential for your machine. If you set a recovery password beforehand, you can rotate the equation here. After re-issue, the old equation no longer works — only the new one signs in.

Before you continue

This rotates the cryptographic key to your state machine. The recovery password is the ONLY thing standing between you and an attacker who knows your ZID. If you didn’t set a recovery password before losing the equation, the machine cannot be recovered — there is no central reset.

If you still have the original equation, sign in normally at /. Use this page only when the equation is genuinely lost.

Step 1 — identify the machine

Step 2 — new equation

Generate a fresh equation locally. Nothing in this textarea ever reaches the server — only its HMAC does. Write the equation down before you submit; you won’t see it again.

Rate-limited to 3 attempts/hour/IP. Failed attempts run scrypt anyway, so they take ~50ms each — brute-force is impractical.
